A client of the Firm, Lift for the 22, Inc., is a Wisconsin not for profit corporation that recently was awarded grant funding by the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs to support its mission of providing mental health programs and counseling to Wisconsin veterans. Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers and the Wisconsin DVA recently hosted an award ceremony at the Wisconsin War Memorial Center in Milwaukee in which Mark participated as part of our client’s team in accepting the grant award. David Cohen is very honored to have been selected as the 2024 Volunteer of the Year for the Legal Aid Chicago Bankruptcy Pro Se Help Desk project. Legal Aid Chicago provides free civil legal services to people living in poverty in Cook County. The Bankruptcy Pro Se Help Desk volunteer lawyers answer questions about filing out bankruptcy schedules, helping with motions and other pleadings, or talking to the pro se client about appearing in court without an attorney.
